The objective of this workshop is to initiate a regional research network covering all countries with high Andean tropical peatlands. Experts will meet to discuss current knowledge on C dynamics and develop a standardized methodology for long-term assessment of C cycling in these ecosystems. By developing standardized methods to investigate C dynamics at different study sites, the aim is to understand how ecological, hydrological, climatic and land use differences lead to local and regional differences in C dynamics in a comparable and objective manner.
