The objective of this workshop is to initiate a regional research network covering all countries with high Andean tropical peatlands. Experts will meet to discuss current knowledge on C dynamics and develop a standardized methodology for long-term assessment of C cycling in these ecosystems. The IAI will support the participation of 5 to 7 consortia with research teams from Latin America and the Caribbean for a maximum of 3 years, with the possibility of requesting an extension of 1 year at no cost, depending on the availability of funds. The grant period would start in January 2023.
